Default 98 4.6 water pump

I have a leak in my water pump out the seep hole on top so I guess the bearing is shot in the pump. I just bought the car and it's obvious they decided to trade it in rather than put a new water pump on or keep putting water in it every night since it drains the overflow in about 80 miles.

This looks like a gravy job to me, I see no reason not to just take an hour or two and swap the pump. For those who have done it, is there anything I need to know or is it just unbolt, scrape, reapply?

Many thanks. Now onto figuring out why the engine misses when over 50% throttle, worse when warm. When I get on it a little you can feel it misfiring by the lack of change in power over half throttle and the vibration.

Yea water pump is real easy, might be a pain to pull off tho. Check your temp sensors(have 2 right?)

I was having starting issues, slight misfire, idling like crap and would bog every time i tapped the gas. turned out that autozone sold me 2 temp switches and was leaning my car out really bad. fixed the sensors and runs great now. Part numbers were su284 and tu207 i believe. $20 for both and wouldnt hurt to try.

first of all, one is the ECT, which does play a small role with fuel delivery..but not enough to make the car run like complete ***.. and the 2nd sensor is for the gauge
