started today - quiet faint whistle almost like its coming from far outside but its me for sure - comes and goes at very low cruising speeds 20-30 mph*

drivetrain mods - eibach pro lowering springs - 3:73 gears - tires 285/35/18- 245/40/18 - 06 auto GT -

what could it be ? tranny? wheels ? gears? pinion angle issue from lowering?

I dont know what it is but I got the same thing too.. But only when its really cold outside.. It bothers the hell outta me lol.
Mines not lowered but i do have 3.73's and the same sized tires so who knows.

Does your car whistle all the time at 20-30 mph, or just when the car is cold? Can you make it whistle more or less with throttle modulation or would you say that it is independent of throttle and more critical in regards to vehicle speed?

No its a whistle almost like my pads are too low so it makes kinda a constant whistle like its scratching the rotor.. but no worries its none of that... just sounds like it.. But it only does it when its really cold outside.

Well I dont know it could be alot of things. My guess is that it is just your air intake whistleing cause mine is stock and it still whistles. The way you can tell is if you feather the gas when its whistling. The only other thing I could think of would be if you used some rear end oil that doesnt work right at low temps but that is a snowballs chance in heck that is happing

That would be the wonderfully transmission...It is doing the same thing with my car (auto), I have taken it to the dealership and they couldn't find anything wrong with it and even had the district service manager take the car for a ride and finally came back a week laterand said that it is a normal characteristics of the tranny,
I thought they were just blowing smoke up my a$$ so I asked to take an 08 for a drive, and yep, it was there also

Mine does that as well, it sounds like bottle caps being blown in the wind (it's difficult to describe), its worse in the cold. It doesn't change with engine load or rpm. I think it may be the front number plate causing turbulence, the condenser is just below and behind the plate and it could be the sound of the wind hitting the condenser, been meaning to take the plateoff and see if the noise goes away.
