you have to get them machined to fit the 5.0 block, but you'll get some gains....If you want better gains go with new heads from AFR, edelbrock etc...depending on your budget.

351 heads have a smaller combustion chamber so they increase the compression ratio, to my knowelge the runners are the same size, along with the valves.

theres no machining needed, just head bolt washers so you can use the 302 head bolts, edelbrock makes them. the chambers are bigger along with the valves, do a little port work and see that 302 come alive! you can still use the 302 intake too.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the runners of the 351 heads are bigger than the runners of a 302 intake. If I'm right, then I don't see the advantage of bolting up a 302 manifold to 351 heads. Now if you get a "Boss" 302 manifold, then you got something that'll work together.

Hmmm, not 100% sure, but seems there is something you have to do with the heads for water flow if you put Cleveland heads on a Windsor type block. And for some reason, I don't think a Windsor typr manifold will bolt up to a Cleveland head. It has been a number of years since I read on this subject, so my memory could be vague (and being in the mid-40's don't help either [sm=smiley36.gif] )

Yes, ford put 351 heads on the 302 boss, you do need machine work to make them fit the 5.0
