Default Intake question?

So I have an Edelbrock Performer II Intake, but I still have stock heads. Can I survive with the stock heads for a while, or do I need to replace?

Lets say I do replace the heads (I'm thinking of matching with Edelbrock) should I also upgrade my cam?

that is a great intake but you wont reap the full potential of it until you unleash a new set of heads and a cam , that will complete the top end... but you can survive for a long while without them, its a financial decision
