91 5.0 alternator upgrade question
Hey Guys. I am looking at upgrading my current 85 amp alternator. I will be upgrading to an electric fan, replacing the stock sound system with a home theater style surround sound system, support a dash mouted laptop for my music use and movies...
I am not sure on what size alternator I need. I am torn between the G3 130amp and the G6 200amp. I know they will both fith with slight modifications to the alternator mount, but is the 200 over kill? Is the 130 too little for what I need (and want!!)? Any input is apriciated.

Sounds like about what I have runnin plus the head lights at night and usualy the heater fan on medium. Ive had the 3G 130amp in my fox since last winter and it performs awsome. everything on it still sits arounf 14.1v. I was amazed .. Just make sure to run the heavy 4 gauge wire ONLY from the back of the alt. to the batt. with a fuse in between. The stock wires are not able to carry the juice from the big alt.Good luck
