1995 Mustang GT

So I drove my car to my leasing office of my appt complex. When I got back in the car after dropping off a check, it wouldn't start. I could here a clicking noise and then all of a sudden smoke starting coming from the passenger side. I found that the ignition control module burnt out. Replaced it but the car still won't start. I bought a new starter because the old one was on the way out but I'm not sure what else could cause this. There is power going through the car. All the interior functions work no problem. As a safety precaution I'm replacing my connections to my battery.Any ideas what else could cause the problem?
