I need help with my starting idle. My dad has the same car as me and when he starts his car the idle will run high to warm up the engine but when i start my car it revs up and then dies. if i start the car and hold my foot on the gas pedel and keep the rpms at 1500 and let it warm up it will run fine. So how do i fix my starting idle so it runs like my dads.

Check the coolant temp sensor for the computer.If it is bad the it might not adjust the fuel properly.

First check for codes.There is a way to ohm the sensor and get readings and compare and translate to temp.I cant find the specs.Maybe someone else will have them.
Also if you know someone with a scanner that can read real time on the sensors you can look at it that way as well.

I had an idle up/down issue, wouldn't go below 1000 RPM... I just got a new bbk 70mm TB, and it must have been my old TPS because I set it, and it still didn't completely fix the problem.. When I put on the new TB with the new TPS, it idles perfectly right at stock specs.. I am VERY satisfied.

seems like the car isn't going to closed loop so it can warm up..several things could be the problem....
1. maf electronics dirty
2. like mentions above coolant sensor bad
3. weak fuel pump or semi clogged filter
4. tps need readjusted
5. iac dirty
6. throttle body dirty
7. egr not working right
