Way too rich.
I got an 89' LX 5.0 a little while ago. It has 11,000 miles on new short block. It has a Typhoon upper and lower intake, 80 MM throttle body, 75 MM mass air, E-303 cam, 19lb/hr injectors, MSD billet distributor, 351W heads. It smells so bad when it runs that it almost chokes you out! What could be the problem and how do I fix it? Also it has 351 W heads on it. I don't know the casting numbers or anything about them. What is the benefit of having these heads over the stock 5.0 H.O. heads? Do they flow better, have bigger valves etc? Thanks!

well IMO, theres alot you could check. the charcoal canister could stopped up, bad o2 sensors, dumped exhaust, do you have an adjustable fuel pressure regulator? how big is the fuel pump in the car if you know. to be honest my car has the same problem. it burns way to rich. it fouls out my plugs quite often and it seems to get to where i shut it off and go into a place and when i come out it wont start cause it floods itself as soon as i crank the key!!!

I'm just getting back into mustangs. I'm learning all over again, when I had one in high school we didn't do a whole lot to them cause I was a broke-***!!! The fuel pressure regulator is non-adjustable, but it does not foul out plugs...but every once in a while it is hard starting. So what is the charcoal canister and what does it do?
