make a jig if you plan to remove it entirely so as to maintain the squarness of it all so it'll all line back up, take measurements before removal and make clean cuts, that's basically what I did when I cut the whole rear trunk and lower 1/4's off a 68 cougar and had to reconstruct it all.
yea the more i think and plan about it and the more i research body restoration the less complicated this looks lol
im going to make some leveling screws to brace and level off that section of frame rail. i honestly dont see how much it could really get screwed up. especially if i can salvage the last portion of that upward frame rail. i can use it as a channel to align the new rail and then the rad support is already pre sized, i just have to make a relief slit in the new rails to slip in the new rad support. and the whole thing is straight again.
do you suggest sticking with the rosette weld technique or do something different??? is there anything else i can do from this point to further strengthen the chassy in the front since im already going to all this work...?

ok, yea, it was what i was thinkin about.
They make 100% ready tube front end's that you cut basically everything from the firewall up.... OFF. and it replace's it with tubing, like a cage.
pretty sure it's not cheap now that i think of it more, lol.
might wanna put the money for the k-member into getting someone to do the frame rail's right.

nah, im not going to pay anyone to do this. i may be a novice at automotive but i am fairly experienced with welding and very well educated in buidling, i do carpentry for side work.. i have a great understanding of squareness, plumb, level yadda yadda yadda. lol! im not worried about messing it up, im just pissed i have to go through all this shyte to get my car driveable again....

here are a few quick pics of my side work before i leave. lol. i have more big projects but they are on film and not ony my digital, i use paper photos to advertise my work for clients. seems to look better than on a digital camera.

idk man, it would be cool to watch the process, but that's intimidating as hell. There's so much that can go wrong with the geometry of the vehicle :/
