you have to be careful running 2.02 valves in other heads . some require that you use pistons with valve relief or that you cut the tops of your stock pistons so the valves do not hit the top of the stock pistons, the trick flow twisted wedge heads with the 2.02 valves works because as the name states the valve alighnment has been " twisted" so it will not hit the top of the pistons. and by the way aren't those 185 afr heads 2.02 valves?

the 165 would probably be more practicle, unless you know some more parts will be added later that would require the 185 . the 165 can make a lot of hp on a 5.0. good luck. keep us informed.

Also, you would not be able to fit the 2.02 valves on stock pistons, you would have to get them notched. Sorry if someone already said that i only read the first couple posts cause i am inpatiant lol. I was happy with my AFR 165's. They like quick said they are better for the 302. AFR is a little on the spendy side, but they have a good reputation. If your gonna do something, do it right the first time. Like i said, i would highly reccomend the AFR 165's, you will not be dissapointed.
