5.0 Takes a while to start
I have a 1995 5.0 car was converted to a manual and still has the auto ecu in it "manual ecu is in the mail as we speak". When i get into the car and turn the key i have to keep cranking it for 5 or 6 seconds till it fires up. I am hoping the new ecu will fix this problem but does anyone have any tips or tricks to fix this or is it common with the 95 5.0s

i know the maps on an auto are a lot different then a manual the autos idle lower and it holds the rpm when i go to shift gears. your probably right though the start up wont make a difference which is why i am asking for tips before i even get my ecu.

you are going to want to complete the manual swap anyway. but I suggest you start looking at your fuel system.
Make sure you are getting a KOEO fuel pump prime.
Make sure your pressure comes up to ~39 PSI when the key is turned to the ON position. You might have a bad check valve in your fuel pump, causing the fuel lines to lose their prime after sitting. This will cause a long crank.
Ensure that you are getting PIP signal on initial crank. You could have a bad sensor in the distributor.
