They do tend to if it's not done properly. I was just over a buddies this weekend, his were leaking.

A lot of care has to be taken when trimming the axle tube and then sealing them.

Jasper, i have the moser spool and 31 spline moser axles and the c-clip eleminators. You will not have to worry about the 31 spline moser axles breaking. C-clip elem. will leak sometimes regardless of how good the install, If you drive on the street some they will leak occ. But i have no regrets with my set-up. I have about 1k miles on it and the driver side has got a very slight leak, but not bad enough to worry about. You should also get a rear-end girdle, i use a MAC.

also has anyone used aerospace or strange brakes?

what causes them to leak just poor installation? or is it just inevitable? the car will be street driven some.

Poor install will cause them to leak. And if you are running a full spool, you know how they do not like much of a turn, well when driving on street you will sometimes have to drive other than just a straight line, so with the addition of the spool it will put more pressure on c-clips, thereby causing them to leak occassionaly.
