ORIGINAL: Mustangkiler

Luiz the cam itself has nothing to do with pushrod length has to do with the head and rocker you use. The height of all that determines the length you need.
Pushrod length will change with different cams. The base circle also determines pusrod length.

I had to use longer than stock pushrods with the AFR165's and 1.72 rockers mainly because my cam has a smaller base circle than stock. With the stock pushrods I wasn't comfortable with where the roller tips were contacting the valve stems.

Really, well learn something new everyday. So the cam profile can change how low the lifter sits and thats how it affects pushrod length?

As zachW04stang pointed out, a change in base circle on the cam will affect pushrod length. Theoretically one could take a stock cam and re-grind it to have a more aggressive profile, but the base circle would have to be smaller.
