93 Reborn Build
Thanks Psycho! I am glad that I can teach, motivate, and inspire some one with out knowing them. There is a lot that I would still like to do to it but there just isn't a budget for it anymore. Luckily I have everything I need to get the car drivable so now I just need to be able to take the time. Emissions are one obstacle that I do NOT have to cross with this car. In the next 2 years it will have Indiana plates on it when I get out of the army and they don't have any inspection at all there.
First off, let me thank my little helpers!

The biggest thing I have accomplished with the car this weekend is getting the gas tank painted with a rubberized coating. It came out looking pretty good I think. I didn't care to strip it down perfect because rust has already gotten to it but I got the biggest crap knocked down the best I could and slapped on the coating today. I have also been figuring out how I want to mount the items in the bay. I have figured I am mounting the ignition box and coil on the passenger side on a little plate and the solenoid on the driver like I said earlier. I still don't know where I want to put the fan controller though. As you can see in the pics I have rolls of wire around the engine bay right now.

I was going to mount the gas tank today but I decided to wait so I can paint the plastic cover along with it. I did decide that I am going to mount the battery in the back and just run the long positive cable to the front of the car to the solenoid. BUT now I have to make a way to be able to mount more stuff to the hot side of the solenoid because not everything is going to bolt onto it with the cable I have. I might run a thick wire to another point to run all the little power wires off one point and just leave the starter and battery cable on the solenoid or the other way around. FYI, the cable I am running for a positive cable is either 3/0 I think. I know the main ground I will be using is. Yea.........its just a little big lol but hey I got it for free and I have PLENTY of it. I did get it ran through the car. I ran it through the hole where the cruise control stuff came through in the fender and ran it down the side with the rest of the wiring that goes to the back. I ran it between the bracing and the outer shell of the car when it went over the rear wheel well and then across the tail lights.
So anyone got any ideas for the alternate mounting point for constant 12v wires???

2 solenoids? I would go by the NHRA setup that alot of people have done on here with the double solenoids and the only hot wire going to the back is the charging but I didn't have enough 4GA to run from the alt to the back of the car. I will eventually do it that way but not right now.
The last couple days I have been working on getting the back half of the car finished up. As seen above I got the gas take painted and now below you see the plastic cover for it. Yesterday after work I got the tank installed on the car. I did learn something new that I haven't read on any website yet. The main feed line for the pick up on the 93 is bigger than that of ones on a speed density car. The tank the 83 had on it was from a 88. SO I did have to swap out the pick ups. That was a quick and harmless process though. I will however possibly have to drop the tank again sometime in the future to replace the fuel lines anyway because the previous owners partially melted one of them but it looks like it will hold its own.

Cable routed through the cruise control hole....

I got the + battery cable to fit on the stud so I shouldn't have to worry about making any more space. I am however going to get a junction block to have a couple extra spots for little items. Mainly 12v key on items but I will have a couple spaces for constant 12v.

Last night I got the transmission filled and I filled the rear end earlier with Royal Purple. I did find out I will most likely have to replace the tail shaft seal but that is no surprise. I also tightened up the drive shaft and bled the rear brakes so the back half of the car is done except for the ground for the battery relocation. So really the only thing I can really do now is get the fender supports done so I can start grounding out all my circuits and mounting the stuff up front. I am also going to go pick up my pushrod tomorrow so I can get the top end buttoned up for good.
