Default 2017 GT Premium Trunk Speaker Rattle

I bought a used 2017 GT Premium convertible and there was a rattle coming from the trunk speaker, especially when the bass is rockin'. I took it into the dealership and they said the speaker was busted. They ordered and installed a new speaker under warranty. The problem is, it's still rattling just as bad. Has anyone else had this problem and what can I do to fix it?

Since they replaced the speaker, and the noise is still there, I bet there is some random stray hard ware that might be behind the speaker. It could be a loose nut or screw left over from construction. Good luck!

The trunk subwoofer?

Well, open the trunk, turn the radio on and start listening. If you can't
hear it with the trunk OPEN, it's the deck lid, or spoiler if you have one.

If it's INSIDE the trunk, then you can press on trim pieces to see which
one it is, or look for what ever is causing the noise.

Check the plate on the bumper cover, it can vibrate, as can a plate frame.

I think there is something loose but I can't find it.

I can hear it better with the trunk open, so I did what you said. If I push in on the top of the housing that holds the speaker, really hard, it stops. That's the only place I can push that stops it but I can't find any loose screws though. Everything seems tight as can be..

Is it the speaker cover you push on, or the enclosure?

It can be fixed with dynamat or form rubber strip...

My driver side window/lock center vibrated with the door subs. so, I
took it our and lined the under side of the switch housing with 1/8"
foam tape; solved. So, I did the passenger side just in case.

The Sub speaker grills come off, see if it stops when you remove the
grille(s). If it does, then line the under side of the grille(s) with foam
rubber tape. That will put more tension on the locking tabs, and stop
them from vibrating.

Here is what I did:

Both sides, no more rattle from bass.

08'MustangDude, sorry it took me so long to get back to you but we've been on vacation. I can't figure out how the grill comes off so I'm going to let the service department look at it when I get my car serviced next. Thank you!
