Default 2019 Mustang GT Order & Tracking

Used to be, Ford & other companies put their customer ordered (sold) cars to the head of the production schedule..
I'm in the dark on what's going on but we've had a new Mustang GT on order since like the 3rd week of August.
Just wondering how others are fairing in their orders being filled ?
Is there a way to Track the cars progress ( we can't read the clumsy attempt by dealer to use Cell Phone to take & send pic) so we don't have Vin#
I've got another thread on ordering woes but wanted to get more opinions to more ?????'s
We were originally quoted 8 to 12 weeks !!

Thanks Guys & Ladies

8 to 12 weeks is what most dealerships use as an estimate.
Presume you have an order # and a VIN by now ?......................( Anything ordered in Aug. would have a VIN !!! )
Your dealer gets updates as to when cars will show up, @ least weekly..

It’s amazing that in this computer age, that ordering a car built, delivery times are the same as in the 60’s and 70’s. Back then the dealer mailed the order to the factory.

Got transferred to a sales person [mine was off] he said he didn't have time to look my info!!!
Come Monday my sales guy emails me that our car won't have a Vin until approx. Jan 8th 2019 , when it's 2 be built..
Are they pulling my leg ????

Well, they're certainly not up to speed. The VIN is supposedly assigned when the order is formally accepted by Ford (at least, that's what my dealer told me).

I ordered my '19 GT on 11/15 (KB, 401A, PP1, MagnaRide, Active Exh, S&S, B&O, nickel wheels), hoping for 16 week delivery to get past the bulk of the winter storms here in the Northeast. The dealer got the VIN on 12/6 and emailed it to me on 12/10. Once I had the VIN, I went to https://shop.ford.com/vehicleordertracking#/ and entered the VIN. Last week, it was telling me the Estimated Delivery Date was 3/5. This week, it's saying 2/28, which would be 15 weeks from order.

Seems to be what other people are seeing, unless they ordered PP2. In that case, Ford is apparently stalling all the orders, with the suspected reason being a reluctance to risk tire damage on the Pilot Sport Cup 2 summer tires from the cold weather at the factory. I think the nickel wheels were also a possible delay point in the past, as they didn't become available until the production run had been in place for a while.

Thanks Zooks, you just Schooled me & I appreciate it..
I'm thinking the Nickel wheels is part of my hold up !
Looks like my salesman is just blowing smoke..
If that's a pic of your car to be built , you've ordered pretty much the same car I have, except ours is a convertible !
Thanks for your post &

Yup, that's Ford's representation of what it should look like. Kona Blue, which, to me, demands the nickel wheels. Went back and forth on a convertible, finally decided on the fastback. Chacun à son goût!

And a Merry Christmas back!

Thumbs up Thanks for HELP

Well Zooks, it looks like you nailed it & mine is to built Jan 7th or 8th & EDD of 1/20/19 !!!!!!! Yeah !!!!

After I emailed my sales guy back, I told him others who ordered in Nov, already had their Vin & EDD; seems he rechecked & came up with the Vin info.

The info & Link you provided is "GOLDEN"

Thanks & Merry Christmas !!~

ps; there was also a holdup on the Coyote engine, I think it because they were noticing a tick in the engine !

Well, like a stopped clock, I sometime manage to be right up to twice a day. Glad things are moving!

Sorry for not updating sooner!
We took delivery last Friday on the 18th which was a couple as sooner than Ford estimated.
For me this is "My Perfect Mustang" with all the options I wanted. "Love it"
Only problem here in the Midwest the weather is Cold, which makes the tires a little Squirrely, but I've got it in the garage & spring time is coming.
