That is so true. The build time from order to complete has been taking much longer than usual.

For example, the GT I bought was not ordered by me. Another guy actually placed the order in March, in hopes of getting it at the promised date of in May (Ford was not even releasing the 2011 GT yet, but they were taking pre-orders). May rolls around when the '11GTs began to hit the dealerships in my area, but the order this guy placed was not even started yet. So what he did is go to a dealer that already had them on the lot, bought one, and canceled the order he placed.

Come August, I go to the dealer, and ask them for a 'Stang with what I wanted. And as it so turns out, what the guy before me ordered is just what I wanted, and when I signed the paperwork, my car (the previous guy's order) was just being loaded from the factory onto the train to bring to Texas!

So, in the case of my car, it actually took 4 (four) months for the factory to finish the order.

My case is an extreme case, so don't think that your custom order will take 4 months to complete too.

Mmm last year of the Trans Am with a LS1. Not really sure what your aim is with the car so this may not apply but I would hold onto that toy car never again will we get the chance to own another New Trans Am. Well it’s already what 8-9 years old what’s another 20 years going to be. Plus its already paid for.
