yes and no. as stated earlier some brands are underrated...like kicker and jl. i am not an idiot. you have to know what the limits are. i know when the sub cant handle anymore...its all in the sound tuning. i had it set so that i could turn my headunit to as high as it would go and the subs and mids/highs would not distort. i run that setup for a very long time.yes the amp will shut its self off when it overloads. turn down the bass just a hair and there is no more problem. kicker makes top notch amps. but untill you hear it please do not talk smack out my knowledge or equiptment.
There aren't many people I would say this too on here, since I'm a newb myself, but you're an assclown...

That circuit is there to save the amp from dumbasses like you. Its not a "time to cool off" switch. I own 4 high current amplifiers that are actually able to function at 1 or fewer ohms... 1 of those four went thermal 1 time after pounding for 2 straight hours in a black car on a 110 degree day. That circuit is for extreme situations, like the one I had it in, not because u needz 2 be hittin' type hard and are too cheap to buy the stuff that is built for it...

And... I would never talk smack about equipment used as poorly as yours is and still functioning.

You just contradicted yourself completly. Maybe it's just your ears listening to how much it bumps rather than what that noise really is, its really distortion.

And anyone "talking smack" to you has indeed heard all 3 brands that you "trust" (with what your secrets?) and we concur with each other when we say Kicker, JL and Pioneer are nowhere near excellent names. Pioneer has ok and user friendly head units. JL has ok subs and amps, and kicker is average all around they have no real strong or weak ends in their company.
