I want to add some sort of subwoofer in the trunk for my 2009 Shaker 500. I also don't want to take up too much room or spend too much money.

So I was looking at something like the Bazooka BTA8100 (8" sub w/100 watts). My idea is to place it on the shelf just behind the rear seat backs so that I don't really lose any trunk space. The local car audio shop said he could sell me that one, or put something similar together that will sound much better. He suggested an Autobahn tube, an ARC Audio 8D4, and a good 250 watt amp for just a little more money.

Any opinions? I have already replaced my door speakers with Boston Acoustic S85 speakers, and I plan on keeping my Shaker 500 head unit. I'm not looking to impress anyone other than myself, and I'm just looking to add some balance to the music. I do not need any window rattling thumping, just balance.

The Bazooka should work fine. My friend has one in his car secured behind the rear seat and it sounds real good.

Thanks for the feedback. I think I'll go with the custom bass tube since this mobile audio shop is well known as a high quality shop, and my son and his friends went there to get their subs.
