sorry for posting such a basic question but i live in my mustang and don't have access to a book. stock dist single points 289 2-bbl need the point gap setting. thank you.

That's the plug gap John. The points gap on a 66 C code 289 is .017.

Dooh! Good catch there buddy. I should have caught that one myself. I feel like such a boob! I hope he didn't try to get the car running with a .034 Point gap.

Lol, yeah that would have been a dance for the points to arc across that gap.

.017 is also the gap or thickness of the cardbord box that the points comes in. so you can actually use the box to measure the gap. I thought it was a pretty cool tip, Thannx to an oldtimer i met at pepboys.
