yea im trying to figure out how to wire the switch so it will still work without having to buy the $120 harness. when i hot wired it the car started fine. i dont need reverse lights anyhow. my car doesnt have any

missing something here again ....
the reverse light switch is a different switch than the neutral safety switch and they don't even use the same cables.
i don't know which way round the neutral switch works. But either when you pull both cables off the switch or when you pull both cables and connect them you should get it to work.
If it does then your switch ios faulty, not the cabling.
For the cabling check the connectors at the firewall, they always make problem.
If it's the cables, then find out which one it is
(safetyswitch to starter relais or safetyswitch to ignition switch) and replace only this single cable
