Default need to removeremove speedometer needle?

I have a 64.5 mustang and need to remove the speed needle from the speedometer. How do you remove the needle and how do you reattach in the same position? I also purchase a white face guage applique kit to go over the black face and would like to use glue instead of the double sided tape(a pain)that was provided. Any thoughts on using glue, if so what glue should I use? The white face is plastic and the face is metal.
Thanks for your time, Jon

If it's like the 66 gage, you can firmly grasp the needle and pull it off. It will push back on.

As for a glue... try Gorilla glue brushed on super thin
