69 windsor head question
if they arent already installed from a previous valve job, YES. they are needed due to us all using unleaded gas. the lead in the old gas acted as a cushioning agent and without the lead the valves just beat their way into the head. that = bad

random pic i found on google, illustrating what happens when you run unleaded gas with heads made before the mid 70's

definately. are you going to have them do a valve job and resurface while they are doing the rocker studs? might as well have them cut the top of the guides down so a) you can run smaller OD seals, and b) not have to worry about the retainers hitting the seals if you go with a big cam.
all that aside, if you have axx to a dremel or a die grinder take the time to get rid of those damn bumps in the ex ports, thats worth some serious gains in the flow dept. which equals free power

i am going as budget as i can so i would like to only do what i have to, the heads are being paired with a recently rebuilt 5.0 with an e303 cam and a gt40/explorer intake so i am not going all out. I am hoping for about 250 hp or so
