Default running hot

New engine, and trans. Finally got it start with the 302HO timing. Now it seem to be running hot. I drove it to see if would cool down some, but I feel the gauage is to close to HOT. I replace the themostrat. The raditor is new, but it seem very hot when you touch it. Any suggustions.
The guage is about 3/4 to hot.I doknow we put the heads on correctly.

Go and buy one of those temp gauge radiator caps to check if you are actually running hot. My dash gauge reads about the same as yours, but is actaully at the right temp.

Yeah, factory gauges are notoriously inaccurate. Get an accurate reading and report back
