We have a K&N Xstream Air Filter (one with the filter in the top too) It looks sick, and its awesome, takes advantage of the makeshift ram air (P.O cut a hole in the hood under the mach scoop, functionality=AWESOME

what is is "letter from ford"?

and I think they both look fine, however even though that is an original air cleaner, it doesn't look like one designed for a mustang. I could be wrong, but I remember the cleaners looking different, and the lid being more smooth.

In either case it looks good though

you are correct its not off a mustang, its off a mid 70s full size ford. cant remeber the model. but it looks more stockish than the chrome one. obviously a HXC enthusiast will spot the fake. but it makes it look a little more subdued.

BA if you dont get the letter i will dig up my old letter and give you the exact address. and phone number.

Waffles, let me know what you are looking for money wise. let me see what i can do.
I guess the original air cleaner on my 72 Mustangcoupe wasn't off of a mustang then huh? Yeah right. That cleaner could be off of a mustang (its the same exact one that my car had originally), just a later model. But yeah, it still isn't the original one for his year Mustang.

Do the stock cleaners affect performance vs. the chrome Edelbrock unit mentioned in this thread? Thanks.

Come on Guys!!! I really want rid of my extra PACER stuff in my garage.
Do I need to own a friggen red and black (sweet lookin) 1970 Mach1 in order to get some respect around here??

Moonweasel: Do the stock cleaners affect performance vs. the chrome Edelbrock unit mentioned in this thread? Thanks.

The stock air cleaner is made to perform on a stock engine.
If you have some modifications then upgrading your air cleaner is a good idea ,but not needed.

The stock air cleaner will flow less air then the chrome Edelbrock unit simply because of the design (open air).

Just think of your engine as a big air compressor, the more air you get in and out of it the better your performance will be.

Thanks, that's what I figured. I like the stock look, so maybe I will cook up a way to paint my edelbrock cleaner blue. Thanks again.
