1965 Shelby GT350R - Help with Modification List
#21
probably not, I just got it out from a barn. it was covered with all sorts of gunk. the left fender is missing the left door is really dinged up. I think someone raced it and hit something, then parked it.

If you haven't ran the VIN, I have the registry (if Tony did'nt tell you). You can PM me the VIN and I can look up some history, owners, etc. I'm not sure that I would resto a REAL 350 into an "R". You may very well de-value the car by more than half the value when finished, as compared to a well restored original. A clone is a clone is a clone, no matter what you start with. The "R"'s are farily easy to mimic, not a lot of changes were allowed in the day and most all of the parts can be had from Branda. You may have a little trouble with the oil cooling system. It looks simular to one used on a Cessna. On another note, if its truely built like a "R" modle, its not going to be very pratical on the street. There will be many issues like ride, cooling (or absence of), pump gas, etc that may haunt you.

well, after much thought I have decided to sell the rusted GT350 and convert a regular fastback instead.
secondly, I don't care too much about is drive ability on the street. all I plan on doing with it is some occasion racing on open track days and driving on the weekend; possibly to a few car shows. not a big car show fan, but Fabulous Fords Forever is a must (~2000 cars at Knotts- Buena Park, CA).
