Well I got the engine completely disassembled, also found the casting number and found out it is an 87 block. It along with the heads and crank will be taken to a speed shop and be dipped. While they have it they are going to replace my cam bearings and maybe the freeze plugs.
Do you know yet what that's gonna cost you? I've been meaning to check around machine shops locally to see what it'll cost me to get the block cleaned up, maybe the heads too...
Not a clue on the price, I doubt it will be much since my grandfather is friends with the owners of the shop. They have done a couple of his engines as well.

Shouldn't be too bad, I think I put $900 into mine which included boil the block, touch up the hone, replace all the rod bolts with ARP and resize them, clean up the pistons, balance the rotating assembly, new bearings and rings. Probably a few other things I forgot about. Not being in the over priced state of NJ you could probably get it done for 1/2.
Now I think I need to unwrap the motor tomorrow and do some work on it. Getting cold up here again
Yeah as of right now there are only going to dip everything and then press in new cam bearings. I will be doing everything else with the help of my dad and grandfather.
Engine is going to be ford blue, while the intake, valve covers, and water pump will be gloss black.
