I have a 66 that had a one speed wiper with no window washer switch. I put in a washer pump and bought a 2 speed switch with the windshield pump (sprays the window washer fluid). The wiring harness on the back of the new 2 speed with washer pump switch is different then the old one speed switch.


The question is this : If I buy the two speed wiring harness (it will fit the back of the 2 speed switch of course) ,but will it connect to to the wiper motor. I have not even seen my wiper motor yet.I am sure it is hard to get to.My guess is that the 2 speed wiring harness will not fit my current motor

If I have a one speed motor, will the 2 speed switch work with it? Iam hoping it will and it will only give me one wiper speed which I am okay with.

All I wanted was to be able to wash the windshield when driving!

The previous owner had rigged up a switch under the dash to turn on the pump...just trying to clean it up and make it more correct.

the 2 speed wiring harness is like 40 or 50 dollars, and if I need a 2 speed motor thats going to run me a couple bucks too..big price to pay to squirt windshield washer fluid!

 

The 1-speed and 2-speed wiper motors are entirely different. You can't make a 1-speed motor into a 2-speed by changing the switch. Just get the correct 1-speed switch and you will be fine.
