Kind of weird of Ford to switch over to fabric right before the 05s where coming out, but I've heard of stranger things.

Thanks for the info. I bought the car used and the manual didn't come with it, which is why I asked here. This is a 2003, and it is definitely a fabric top, not vinyl.

ok the stuff at the car wash is a joke. Nothing beats waxing your car the right way.
You dont want wax on the top. Instead you want to just clean it as normal and maybe scotchgard it. Try not to be too rough when cleaning it. What color is your top?
