Default P/P heads vs. new heads

I was wondering if there is a big difference porting and polishing the stock heads and buying completely brand new heads for the S197... has anyone actually ported and polished their heads along with adding cams? I talked to woodbine motorsports the other day. JJ explained to me that for just the porting and polishing, the cost will run about $1500... is it cheaper/better to buy new heads...???

our heads flow fairly well, invest in some other thing, like a supercharger fund.

Even if you uy new heads they are still oem heads with a P&P on them im pretty sure. Id say you will pickup a nice hp and tq gain but alot of ppl on here will argue that for the money it wouldnt be very efficient.

Many aftermarket companies offer various stages of heads, some consist of cnc ported w/ oversized valves, angle cut; even with flow chart. MMR, Livernois, Sean hyland offer Stage I, II, III; just to name a few! Hope this helps!
