Thanks man. I guess i will take a second look at the 4.10. Get the Ford Racing ones? Or something differant? If i get the FR i imagine the dealership will still charge through the nose.

I have FRPP gears and I have heard many claim that Motive Gears whine. Even my FRPP gears whined a little when first installed and had to be re-adjusted. Most importantly, make sure wherever you take your car has experience installing gears in S197 mustangs. The set up has to be PERFECT to not get whine.

By set up perfect, should this be a dealer install? Tell them to install, take it out to check if it whines before they call me for pick up? I mean i have until April until it sees road again, so i guess i should take my time in picking the right parts.

Any more thoughts on the chip/programmer side of my post? I like the livewire, but i don't want it in my window because the dash is already pretty high, and as far as i can see there is no where to put it other than that. What do you guys do with the preformance monitors in your car? Are they all stuck to the window?

Thanks.

With the gears, go with FRPP. I got PRO 5.0 because I hear they are good, but fords are cheaper right now, go figure haha. When they are installed, ask for a no whine guarantee. As for the tuner, I'd get this one: http://www.bamachips.com/store/index...a4f15a6ec9b14f

It is the same as the livewire but does not sit on the dash and display all the neat things that the livewire does.

Where did you guys order your gears from? Anywhere specific that might be cheaper?

I ordered mine from Mustangs Unlimited but here is the link to the site that has the Ford gears for $150: http://www.buyfordracing.com/shop/pr...=461cPath=3_37

I would get quote from local performance shops before you go straight to the dealer. A local shop here charged me 400 bucks for parts + install and a no whine guarantee.

livewire:
i have it, and the contrast sometimes is difficult to see. other than that it is a good tuner.
w/ 4.10's at 70 mph in 5th gear i'm at about 2400 rpm. at 60 mph a little over 2000 rpm.
