Sounds like the speed limiter is set in the tune. Hell I can easily do over 120 in my v6, or so I suspect No, really, the last time I had it dynoed, the vehicle speed reading from the car's computer showed 145 at the top end of 4th gear.

Check the tune.

When I had stock (3.55) gears and just an intake and tune I was able to hit ~140 and it came pretty quick. Once I shifted out of 4th I let off because I was running out of road and I'm sure 5th accelerates pretty slow.

We've had my stock 06 GT (auto) up to 130+ and still felt like it had a lot of room to go... Like Nuke, I/we've never gone past that. For us it was simply because a. we ran out of road once, and b. it gets a little too floaty for our likes. Think I'd call Brenspeed just to be sure, and possibly give it another try just to see if it was fluke.

Predator tuned stock GT with stock rev limit (6,250 rpm).

Reached 135 mph in 4th... just shy of the rev limiter.

Your car should easy pass 120 in 4th... get it checked out.

I have a bone stock 2007 V6, and it easily hit 105. Not that I encourage such activities...
My governor should have me limited at 113. The stock V8 is limited at 143: see http://www.modernracer.com/fordmustanggt2005.html
(for the record, I did get a ticket that same day, but not for a speed anywhere near 105)

If only my city had a race track, I would speed legally
FYI, some small airports allow proper car races to be done on their runways. It is an extra way they can raise money sometimes. You may be able to get permission to test your cars speed, but it may be a challenge, especially with the extra security measures around airports these days.

It must be something in the ECU as my custom tune does not limit. The other day on the dyno a full pull in 4th gear exceeded 166mph.

When mine was stock I remember hitting 145 fairly easily on an empty road. Then it was a more of a crawl to high speeds, but now it pulls hard even from 130+.

Its something with the tune... when in Germany on the Autobahn with 3.31 gears atleast once a week I brought it up to 149 with the stock tune... it was GPS verified... Car hits the governor at 149-150 in fourth at redline or a little past... 5th gear will hold 149 so the engine has enough power to push it to the limit... I condone driving that fast in Germany
