Default Saleen Blower arrived, trouble is,,,,,

My Mustang GT order isn't even scheduled or VIN'ed yet! Bummer! Blower setup looks fantastic though, and will really look good under the hood of my new 06 GT deluxe ! I can't wait to get enough miles on my ride so i can put the blower on when the snow flys up here. That is the reason for the other post about wanting to get one from out of state!!

I am planning on it, unless i can save the warranty by getting it done at an approved delearship. I hear that that is possible, but will have to check it out. I have all the tools, including a cherry picker to lift the blower into position. That bugger is HEAVY!! The instruction manual looks very complete and well done, is 60 pages long! Lots of photos to go by.

If you can afford the blower and the car, you can afford to have them install it and thats what I would do. It isn't real hard to install but if Ford will do it and warranty it, thats the way to go. I'm jealous.

Quick questions about the install... Does it require the oil pan to be tapped, or is the oil source self contained? Are there any special tools needed? Did it come with a tuner, or do you have to send the computer back? What about the injectors, any included? Thanks.

I bought from JDM, injectors and 90mm MAF came with the package,(over $6000 total) along with cold air kit and a tuneup for the cold air kit only, and one with cold air kit and blower. This same setup was tested in a mag recently, lost track of it after i ordered.
The install requiires removing the front valance to install the intercooler radiator. The hood comes off the car for ease of installation for the blower, and is needed, it is heavy! Heavy enoug i am considering making a special tool to hang it from my cherry picker for ease of install. The instructions say two guys can do it, but they better have good backs! The wiring for the alternater is too short for the blower install, and supplies are in the kit for lengening this and one other harness as well. New water transfer tubes for the heater are requiered, and supplied. No oil lines needed for the blower. New brackets are provided to accomidate the new serpintine belt routing for the alternater, and a new idler is provided. A few new tools are required, panel removal tool, speceial socket allen head, saleen alternater pulley removal tool. Looks like about a day and a half for me, i take my time.

thanks for the info gregsdart. Let us know how the install goes. Do you think someone with little experience could pull of the install? If so what tools would be needed. Thanks
