Default Engine Oil Temp Sensor Location

Hi all,

I recently had to have the rear main seal replaced in my ‘06 GT. Since I got it back it is throwing code PO197: Engine Oil Temperature (EOT) Sensor low input. I can clear it and it will stay cleared until I turn the car off and back on.

My primary question is: where is the EOT located?
I’ve searched the internet pretty hard and I can find lots of info on the Oil Pressure Sensor, but essentially nothing for the Temp Sensor.

Thanks in advance for any good info

TL;DR: It's likely located on the side of the oil pan.

The sensor is referenced in the service manual for diagnostics here, but all mentions to replacing it point to section 303-14. I scanned through all of that and didn't see any mention of it, which is interesting. It's probably in the wiring/connector sections...somewhere. Maybe.

This guy had to unclip at least one plug from the oil pan before removing (at about 6:20); I suspect that might have been it:

And finally, there's this post that refers to it.
