Greetings from Santa Monica
Hi all,
I found this forum cruising around the web for Mustang parts and thought I'd join. I have a '69 Winter Blue coupe, with a modified orig 302/C4. It's my first car, and has been a daily driver for 17 years. I learned to drive when I was 32. I'm originally from NYC where somebody else always did the driving.
I restored my $500 Mustang mostly myself, including color sanding the original paint for 3 months until my arm fell off. It was a great project, but I will never climb under another car with a pickle fork prying suspension parts off again, lol. My car's in great shape now so it was worth it. Plus, my registration is still only $50 a year, since it's based on the purchase price in CA.
The car is mildly customized with a 650 Edelbrock 4bbl and dual 2 3/4" pipes. I added a 4 row Modine and a tranny cooler for trips to the desert, and the temp gage never goes beyond 1/2, even in 120° Mojave heat. No AC: that's why God invented windows. Orig Philco AM and dash clock still work. Heavy-duty springs, 1" sway bar, and Konis all around to keep the ride stiff, and 15" Cragar SS's. It's a fun driver.
Cosmetically, I added spoilers, a functional CJ scoop, a hood mounted tach and a Mach 1 paint application. It turns a lot of heads, which is especially nice now that it is bikini season here at the beach.
This weekend I'll be replacing the gears I stripped, so I'll be getting opinions on sizes in another appropriate thread.
See you on the freeway,
Carlos
