So I'm not a mustang owner.. At least not yet. I've always had an affinity towards mustangs. My father owned a Mach 1 which he sold when I was born to pay for bills and all. Ive always respected him for that sacrafice.
I lost my father a year ago last July. I had always wanted to get a Mustang for him but was never financially able.
Now that I'm a father myself and in a position to drop 10k-15k on a new vehicle. Sold the mini-van I was awarded through the divorce and ready to start shopping.
I'm hoping someone could help with a few suggestions.
I know I won't be able to pick up a Mach 1 but I would like a model with a little attitude in it's design.
I really like that hood brow of the 05-09's. Though I'm learning there's issues with door pannels, gauge needles and passenger floor plates in some of these year my models.
Using a cars app and finding a huge selection of options which only adds to more questions.. base model, premium, GT, etc..
What I'm looking for first and foremost is the overall look of the mustang. That mean-mugging bulldog look!
I would love a manual V8 but would also like to get some sort of decent mpg.
AlsoI want something that's going to last. I want to pass this down to my son. He's 11 and it's been just him and I the past 9 years. My father gave up his. I wanna give my son mine. I figure I have 7 years to add the little add-ons to make it a sweet ride. Ya, he'll have to wait till he's 18!
So, any suggestions as to year, model etc? V6 vs V8? Is the mpg considerably different? Is one prone to last longer than the other? Figure I have till tax time to do my homework, save up for a down payment and all that. Any suggestions deeply appreciated!
