That lock-smith is an idiot, there is no SIGNAL from the dashboard.
All it is, is a light that tells you the anti-theft is working. It should blink
when the car is off, and locked. IT may also blink even with the
key in, and on. IT has no signaling, nothing.

The induction coil for the key transponder is in the ignition cylinder.

The cluster might be where the PATS module is, but the light isn't a signal
device for the key.

Whom ever, or where ever, you bought it from, take it back.
