Car and Driver said the GT500 was a heavy slug that handled poorly (or so I've heard)
They are biased morons.

And the jap cars, like the Civic SI, they rev like bastards, their all top end power, and they've got VTEC (which really does work well)
And I may be mistaken, but the SI is a much higher compression engine, so yes, with all these factors, they can make power...
And their peak hp is near redline....Most drivers are too afraid to take their cars to redline...Our power is much lower in the powerband..
so if we make our cards rev higher, would that give us more power without harming the engine?

I just traded my 04 Nissan Maxima for a 06 mustang V6 and let me tell you one thing It runs much better than the maxima. I have put in about 1000 miles on the mustang now and am just waiting to stop on a redlight next to a maxima and well you all know what happens next.

As far as I'm aware the maximas with a 3.5L v6 have 55 more HP than the 4.0L v6. How this is possible I do not know, the japanese are keen for making tiny engines produce tons of horsepower.
Well Japanese cars are like Japanese D**KS, Small, Quiet, But lots of Power. Just look at their population.

Uh no. Our engines power (like all engines) start to have a drop in TQ and HP after a certain RPM. Usually where Redline is.

A V6 in a jap car is more 'high-tech' than ours so while you may get 300hp from a V6 jap car you will spend 10K more. Base price for a V6 stang is what 18-20K? Base price for a Maxima, Solara, Infiniti G35, etc is what...30-35K?

Maximas might have 55 hp more, but its torque that launches a car. A Maxima has 255 ft lbs@4400 rpm, we run 240 ft lbs@3500 rpm, both cars weigh pretty much the same, depending on what gear they run, but running a 3.73 or a 4:10 in ours and you have good reaction time, light to light your going to give him a run for his money. Just keep him away from the highway where that 55 hp is to his advantage.... oh the Maxima is also running 10.3:1 compression, which is another reason besides what was mentioned above, accounts for the higher hp, compared to our 9.7:1...

Ford didn’t use these engines for so many years and applications because they were below average standards and reliability.
