Hey guys, so the issue im having is when I go from park to drive my car won't move. What I have to do is go slightly past the D and then back to it for it go into gear. I took it to a local transmission shop and the mechanic said the overdrive sprocket is broken? Im thinking it must be linkage related. Any words of wisdom please?

 

I'd be checking the shift cable to see if it is cracked. Then check to see if it is out of adjustment.
