Yes.

OK, I'm thinking about just buying the wheels/tires minus the TPS sensors and just resetting the alarm when I start the car. Would there be any issues with this down the road? Once you reset the alarm the first time with each start, will it stay off untill you turn the car off?
Is that a yes to cousing problems down the road, or yes to the fact the alarm/light will stay off until you turn the car off and not light back up until you restart?

Yes to the beep and message leaving you alone until you shut the car off and then restart.

Thanks for clearing that up. I think I can live with that, especially when Ford wants $550 for straps and sensors and another $100 to program/train them.

I need some help understanding the TPMS. On my '07 Mustang I think the system is not working. Each time I start the engine the "low tire pressure" indicator blinks for exactly 25 seconds, then goes off. I think it is trying to warn me the system is not functioning. Once I had low pressure in the right rear tire and I did not get any warning on the dash.

I went to the Ford dealer (whose service manager admits he is not "big" on all the computer controlled stuff) and they reported back the TPMS was not activated. They said they activated it, but I have my doubts. I think the "low pressure" light should extinguish on engine start after about 5 seconds or so, as all the other lights do (air bag, etc.)

How can I tell? Is there a way to independently confirm the system is operational?

Thanks,

- Bill

There is a problem in the system, thats why its staying on alot longer. Most likely one of the sensors is bad. Time to find a new dealer........

yea, if you want to check the system, let some air out of a tire. I think the alarms start going off at 3 or 5 psi low, I don't remember exactly, but it's not much. Drop it down to 25psi and take it around the block. should go off.
