I think it's interesting how many people have the seat all the way back on these. I guess I just prefer to sit a little closer for a better clutch/shifter feel. I'm around 5'10" with a 31" waist, so I'm not a big guy. But I have the seat far enough up so that if I'm seated upright (I don't recline very much in the 'Stang) and I extend my left arm outward, my wrist rests perfectly on the top of the steering wheel.

The only thing about the seating position that gets me is that I always seem to have the keyfob brushing across my knee. It just bugs me sometimes when I'm wearing shorts. I actually have the Mustang key and keyfob on it's own keyring now because when I had all of my keys on the same ring (which wasn't that many) they annoyed the hell outta me.

I guess mine is somewhere in the middle both up and back... maybe a little closer forward than back and a little lower than upward. I'm 5'3, 115. Mine's an auto, though. In the S-197s I've driven that are manual, my chest is practically touching the steering wheel. In my car though I like to sit nice and low with the backrest pretty far back, almost like I'm laying in there. I typically have my right hand resting on the shifter and only use my left hand to drive with, which I normally extend my arm straight to the wheel.

Never had a problem with the center dash area hitting my leg(I'm 5'11"), but I nearly once a week(if not more) hit my knee upon entering the car on the curved sidedash area(where the headlamp switch is) and it hurts really bad every time[:@]. Always happens when I'm in a hurry and not paying attention.[&o]

I have a tendency to hit my head as I'm exiting.

No problem with that here; all the head room in the world...haha...sorry, couldn't resist!

Cheers!

I hear you. 50% of the time, my right knee turns on the lights when I get in.

I seem to be the only one with my setup. My legs are relatively long but my upper torso is short so I have the seat all the way back but all the way up.

What we need is an accelerator pedal extension, like that kid had on the Model T in "Oh Brother Where Art Thou?" Then, it would hit in the calf area. Save my poor arthritic knee.

I'm 6'6" with size 15 4E shoes, my seat is all the way back, and slightly reclined. The center console doesn't hurt me as much, but my knees are very close to the dash. Only an inch or two between it. Still plenty of head room, and I can nearly stretch my left leg out completely. Still would love some seat rail extenders though to get that extra 2-3 inches before hitting the back seat!
