Push button start
So very well stated. I guess the younger crowd is all taken aback with the COOL push button start. I really really really really really really really really really really really do not get how this is COOL. Wasting the Taliban or Al Q would be cool but pushing a button huh
And I agree with you about wasting the Taliban or Al Quada would be cool lol.
It would be a shame if people with your mentality were running Ford and GM, we'd have a barebones car with no modern innovation in it. Im sure that would be fine for you, but it's that narrow minded mentality that has lost Ford and GM lots of sales to foreign car makers.
Regarsless of how small the sampling of people that respond to this poll is, you come off as the type of person that feels like, "I don't like it, so the hell with what everyone else wants". You'd probably say the same thing if there was a national survey and the results were the same.

Naah, Maybe a little impatient about not being able to get me and a few others to change our minds or see things in precisely the same light as he does. The world just can't hurry-up fast enough for some people.

I love mustang's and their heritage as much as the next guy, but for real: I want this as an option. Is it a deal breaker? Of course not...but it is worth mentioning that lots of other cars (cheaper cars, even made by ford) feature this technology. It's not like we're asking for something only ferrari's have. It's cool/handy to never have to take the key out of your pocket. And the push button start with the sound of the new 5.0? mmmmm...tasty.
Oh, and that POS off of American Muscle is useless. You have to put the key in the ignition then turn it, but not all the way AND THEN press the button? Ugh...kinda defeats the purpose don't you think? my .02

I do like the feature but I dont like most aftermarket ones that you still have to put the key in then push a button. When I do it, it will be this one. It unlocks the car as you approach and the nyou push a button with no key to insert.

If you guys haven't seen my thread on here about the digital guard dawg push start button, check it out. To sum it up:
I bought the version from Digital Guard Dawg that has the automatic door unlock/lock feature. Once you have a system like this you will understand how great it is and never go back.
When I walk to my car, the key fob is in my pocket. No factory keys EVER. When I get close to the car the doors automatically unlock. I get in and push the start button and the engine starts. No factory keys needed. When I want to get out I hold the start button, then engine stops. When I walk away from the car, the doors automatically lock. No keys or hitting any buttons.
It's also impossible to lock your keys in your car with this system. If the key fob is in the car the doors will not lock.
Check out my thread for specifics. Definitely an awesome system.

we could use some people like him running companies, look what theyve done to trucks these days! cant even get barebones, I feel having to to premium or some other sub model to get something is rediculous,i feel u start with barebones and can option whatever the hell u want on it,booya
The trouble with making something like this optional is that it only starts out that way. Eventually it becomes the only fitment, once it starts costing more to maintain the two options than it does to install the fancier system across the board.
From Dave's description and that of others elsewhere, I know as absolute truth that I would find having to hold the button down as a required shutoff procedure (implying several seconds) infuriating well beyond what the small amount of time wasted actually represents. Having the car go through audible unlock-lock cycles every time I'd walk past it closely enough to trigger it (without intending to get into the car) would be mostly just annoying.
