Incorrect. You're obviously somewhat new to the forum.

What does that have to do with anything? Im new to this forum but far from new to modular V8's and Lightning/SVT forums.

The strategy code on my L has always been NLP2 since '03 and will always remain NLP2 regardless of how many times it gets a factory reflash.

There are many threads documenting where guys had their PCM's reflashed by the dealer only to find that they couldn't reload their custom tune because the strategy code had been changed, resulting in intervention by Brenspeed (or whomever their tuner was).

Might be a mustang thing....

but I'm going to be cautious about it now if I ever tune the car. Can you send me some link for me to read up on?

Ive had to have my PCM replaced with a new one because it got fried for some unknown reason and because the new PCM was a '03 PCM it also had a NPL2 strategy code.

Sure thing. After work when I don't have fellow workers wandering into my office.

Not to change but hate to start a new thread. Do LT'S and O/R X void? I know emissions stuff is out the door but in general does that combo mess with anything on motor? What are the odds if my motor goes they can say oh your exhaust caused it?

Generally they say it will void the warranty. Most of the headers Ive dealt with move the position of the o2 sensors which usually requires a retune to adjust the dwell time.

I tend to dismiss all the post in the links supplied except for the post quoting brenspeed in the last link. That seems to be the only one providing hard evidence and not just some random poster using the word "Strategy code".

This all seems weird to me. As stated before my Lightning has a NLP2 strategy code it always has been and always will be regardless of reflashes. Ive even had an incident where I had a performance tune via a Predator on my L and I drove up to my tuner which was a 2 hour drive and left the hand held at home. So I had no other choice but to purchase a Xcal because a diablo couldn't read the performance tune on the PCM as stock calibration were as the Xcal could.

There is one thing that I though of while reading the Brenspeed post is what do they do if it is presumed that you have a certain strategy code but have had an dealer reflash before you ever started performance tuning. Would the hand held not work and if so how would you read and acquire the strategy code in order to supply your tuner with to get the tune to work with the PCM without getting the dealer involved?

Bah Im rambling......
