300-400 hp really a nice 351w stock block. oh and yes balance everything....seems you don't want a race engine but one that has good idle, good power thur a broad range....if you don't want a stroker then just a .30 over build up cross drill crank, flux the block, have it decked, etc cam something around 550 lift but being a daul pattern cam. and on a 112 or 110 c/l.. intake maybe a stick with the daul plan but notch the plenum and port match it or have it extrude honed. you carb could be a nice 650 demon..which has alot of adjustabilty in them

Thanks for all the posts. In 10 minutes I have just recieved a WEALTH of information! Especially the last post. You nailed in on the head! I dont want a frame twister. That would be nice and all. But yes more HP than what i have through a broad range is what i should have posted. Just a note too. I live in Canada where the summers get to 40+ Celcius in the summer and have the possibility to get to -20 in the winter and I want to drive this car in those extremes and have a good light to light car on the street. i doubt i will race this car but I do want a car that handles better and goes! So with that in mind any more oppinions are more than welcome!

A super charger is a whole new ball o wax! I dont know how that works with a carb setup. It is a 1982 Mustang GT. I dont think there is much out there for super charger add ons with a carb set up... is there?

a supercharger(probably a blow through system) is completely unneccessary in this situation. by far the best bet would be to put the 351 in. the way it sounds you have everything you need, your heads, manifold and everything will fit on it too. throw in the 351, maybe put a cam in it, and call it a day. you will be making some good #s to have fun w/ and not have to strengthen the entire driveline. the 351 would give you a good broad curve and be very streetable at the same time. stroking a 302 would be a waste when you already have everything for a 351. really the only costs you'll incur are the minor suspension/driveline/chassis things and the machine work that you need(assuming you already have the motor)

you can achieve your goal of 300-400rwhp with a good H/C/I package.
I have 305rwhp with a 308 (bored 0.040) AFR 185 heads and all the fuel injection stuff.
and when I spray the 125 shot that number grows to 420rwhp.
if you put in a 351 you can easily make 500rwhp on motor with the right cam and heads.
check out www.hardcore50.com there are lots of guys running 351 strokers there that make BIG numbers.
