Transmission question
I've been looking at the difference between the forward/reverse pattern valve bodies. I kind of like the idea of the reverse valve body compared to the typical forward found in most stock autos.
What disadvantages are there to the reverse pattern?
Is there a difference between a manual and full manual valve body? I've read it put both ways. I'm assuming they just allow you to control the shifts but will they still shift automatically if you started in 3rd?
Where exactly does the kick down cable mount for a pivot point? From what I understand it runs from the TB to the linkage on the transmission and works when at WOT but where does the cable pivot at?
Where will the neutral safety switch be located and what is the procedure for wiring it up when swapping from a T5? I didn't know if the harness had a connector for it on the T5 models.

Go with the full manual Rev. valve body if you are gone with a C4 with the manual valve body there is no kick down needed you just pull it down one gear. with the full manual there is NO auto features at all if you start with the shifter in 3rd you will be in 3rd and the same for the other gears. Now low gear also has no brake in other words if you are in low and let off the gas the car will coast like in N then if you start giving it gas it will rev till it catches up that is one thing some don't like. That is with the PA body's. The neutral safety switch in made in the shifter then you just wire it into the stock harness not at all hard to do. I run the full manual valve body in our car and also in all the trans I build for people they hit hard unless you have a lose converter to soak up some of the hit. There some thing to do with the forward shifting stock type C4 valve bodys that they will tend to flare on the 2/3 up shift that the rev. valve body helps with is what I was told. You can still get flare with the 2/3 up shift but it is more in setup then a valve body problem.
