I have heard about the old afr heads having trouble with the aluminum. I can't remember where I read that since it was so long ago. Anyways, I would thing that if that is true, it just fell out. The rest may be soon to follow if that is true as well.

they can be fix I have seen heads much worst then that fixed if done by someone that knows what they are doing looks like you will need both valves and some seat work also and the CC chamber will need sized. They are also old heads they have the cross over for the cooling.

Is it worth it? How much do you think a shop would ask for the work?

they are not to much head!! afr 185's are comparable to a 170 cc tfs tw head, cross section is comparable for those who understand what to look at when comparing cylinder heads

Those are an old set of heads. You can tell by the eyebrow coolant passage that they have been around for a while. Afr got away from that.
