restomod66, I see you say you have 15" rims also. My rear are torque thrust 15 x 8 with 225/60/15 on them and they only rub if I go over a pretty good bump. But since I want to replace them all around with cragar rims, I wanted to know what tire size will fit without worrying about the occasional bump. Your post said you were changing over to a different size.....what are you going with??

Thanks,

connor90, when I measured them I believe the torque thrusts on the rear are 8" rims with 225/60/15's and the froms are centerline rims maybe 5" or 6" widewith 195/60/15's on them. I can take pic of them, but have no idea how to post it.

You can get them pretty much anywhere. I'm torn between the Cragars and the American Racing Torq-Thrusts.

I was thinking about going with15x8 4.25BS 225/60/R15 but if they are rubbing on your car they probably will rub on mine also. I will have to think this one over again.

restomod66, the TT rims I have now have only a 3 3/4 or so backspace, plus I think they may be 8 1/2" wide instead of the usual 8" rim. I also want to go with cragar15x8 with 4.25 bs thinking that the backset will bring them in towards the leafs a bit and would eleiminate the occasional rub. They do not rub during normal driving, so I don't really mind, but since I want to go with new rims I want to make sure they fit a little better. The fronts are 195/60/15 and there is no problem with them at all. So I am hoping the larger BS will eliminate the occasional rub altogether.

I Agree!!! I believe going with the bigger BS will help eliminate your rubbing problem.

Can anyone verify my thinking that my if current rims may be 3 3/4 or 4" backspace, andI get new rims that have a 4.25 backspace that the tire / rim moves IN towards the leaf spring a bit?? I think it does?
