Well, I have decided to go with the Borgeson factory steering box. They are on sale for 315.00 at CJpony so if it doesn't fix the problem I won't be out an arm and leg.

Default too late??

Just for info I recently installed the FR box, yes it was expensive, yes it made everything better, lol. I also installed a roller bearing idler arm, and I have manual steering.

I have about 800 miles on the install and I am happy! And I did not have the same symptoms as you, my box was simply a little sloppy and leaking horribly,

I considered and wanted to go with the FR box but since I have a 4speed the FR system will not fit due to the Zbar. There is not an adapter available to make it work. However, if this factory reconditioned box does not help, I will probably go with the FR box after I do the T5 swap since I will be eliminating the Zbar and going with a cable clutch set up.
