If the long tubes that you have aren't broken, don't bother wasting time and money trying to fix a problem that doesn't exist.

You need to listen to different exhaust setups live, not on video. It's just not the same.

One thing about an X-pipe, which is still do-able, is that it sounds a lot different from either straight duals or duals with an H-type of crossover. Not everybody cares for it because most of the heavy rumble part of the exhaust sound goes away, so you'll want to listen to one first. It may be worth a few more HP at the high end, but the biggest street benefit is that if you're running relatively restrictive mufflers they won't cost you quite as much with an X as they would with an H or no crossover at all. As the mufflers you choose get less restrictive, this advantage fades some.

A crossover of either sort will help if you live in an area where exhaust sound levels are more closely monitored, with an X being slightly better in this respect.
