Well, there was fluid in the dipstick so should i just let a little out any ways?
What do you mean that there was fluid "in" the dipstick? Did the dipstick register full after you ran it around the block? Or, did it register over filled?

OK, let's start again. 5 1/2 quarts of fluid is the capacity for a C4 automatic transmission. Assuming you drained it all out, then 5 1/2 quarts should have gone back in. However, the only way you can check the fluid level in an automatic transmission is to get it hot before checking. Now, did you take the car out and drive it until the fluid got hot? If not, you need to do that.

5.5 quarts probably didnt go out. I just took the pan out and it dripped over night so maybe like 4 quarts drained out. I will take it for a ride tomorrow.... Open headers lol

I love open headers. If you put too much oil in the engine, It will foam up, called Oil Foaming. It loses it's viscasity, and will burn up, the engine..... it's likely anyway.
